Liberal Democrats have at today's Cabinet Meeting attacked the Tories £5million proposed cuts to the 2015/2016 Adults Budget.
Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Cllr. Jeremy Hilton (LD: Kingsholm and Wotton) said that "it is deeply alarming that these cuts affect the most vulnerable in our county. Service quality to vulnerable adults could be severely damaged.
"I'm appalled that the Tory administration think nothing of shirking responsibility to the voluntary and community sector. Voluntary organisations do a fantastic job, but they are already over stretched financially.
"I am concerned that further burdens on the shoulders of such organisations will severely affect the quality of care being provided. It is about time the Tory administration started listening to the concerns of the voluntary sector and wake up and smell the coffee".
