Gloucestershire's NHS is facing a funding crisis, this financial year alone the county faces a £24million deficit.
Terrible ambulance response times, closure of Accident and Emergency services and the downgrading of Minor Injury Units across the County are just some of the issues that have arisen as a result of a lack of funding from the Conservative government. Couple this with the ever increasing demand for health services due to an ageing population and it makes for a very uncertain future for Gloucestershire's NHS.
During the coalition government with the Lib Dems most NHS trusts - including Gloucestershire - were in financial surplus. They weren't flush with cash but they were managing. Now most of them don't have enough money from government to cover their costs.
Urgent funds are needed to ensure that a safe and quality service is delivered for everyone that needs it.
Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats are calling on Theresa May's government to listen to local people and take action to protect and enhance the county's NHS services.

I call on the government to provide sufficient additional funds to protect and enhance Gloucestershire's NHS services.
