Campaign to clear Gloucestershire’s dangerous road signs

74 of 100 signatures

Gloucestershire Lib Dems have launched a campaign to get the county’s road-signs clear of potentially dangerous foliage.

Every year in Gloucestershire, motorists are presented with dozens of signs either completely obscured by foliage or so faded and dirty that you can't read them.  Despite this issue being consistently raised by the Liberal Democrats, the Tory-run council has yet-again failed to address it.

Unchecked plant growth doesn’t just look a mess – an obscured “STOP” or “Give Way” sign is a clear and present danger for anyone using the road network.

Join our campaign to address this accident-waiting-to-happen by signing our petition below and sending your pictures of concealed signs.

(When taking pictures, please make sure to take care and not put yourself or any other road users at risk!)

"I the undersigned call on Gloucestershire County Council to acknowledge the clear dangers posed by signs obscured by foliage, and to prioritise clearing plant growth from these signs during those months when the danger is greatest."
